About Face on Fire

Face on Fire is a casual raiding guild. But what does that mean? There are two ways to approach a guild: the hardcore who raid seven days per week and the casuals, too busy making dick jokes in vent and playing grab-ass at Razor Hill to get anything done. Face on Fire fits somewhere in the middle, we only raid twice per week, four hours at a time. And the dick jokes in vent... well those still happen, but we try to keep those to a minimum. But in all seriousness, we're something along the lines of business-casual, we don't raid very often but we do take it seriously. The guild is made up largely of 20 to 30 year olds, we all have jobs, lives, families, and other interests outside of WoW. It's a game, first and foremost so we've tried to foster a relaxed environment of generally cool people. In the end, it's all about finding the happy medium which gets people their epics and keeps them generally happy. So far, I think we've struck a great balance. We work hard and we play hard, Face on Fire is definitely a guild I can say I'm proud to be a part of.

The History of Face on Fire

It all started a long time ago, in the land of IRC chat. I had just quit EverQuest and was anxious for the sequal EverQuest II. I joined a guild called Ebonlore, and that's where I met that which would later become Face on Fire: Stabbyface (now Phalexface), Juxi, Exvanlane, and Pizda. A few months later, I found myself sharing an apartment with these crazies in the frozen desert of Northern Utah. We spent months waiting for EQII to come out, only to be utterly underwhelmed. So we said goodbye to EQII and Ebonlore, and went back to EQ for a short time while we looked for something else to do. I left Utah to pursure an adventure and before long was tempted into World of Warcraft by some friends in Arkansas. I found shortly after that everyone else had gotten the WoW bug too, but we were all on different servers. We each followed our own path, raiding in Vanilla till we were all sick to death of it.
December 10, 2006 a day that will live in infamy...
The decision had been made, we consolidated our efforts and moved to Bloodscalp. Face on Fire was born.
Initially, we were all pretty much done with raiding on any serious level. Myself coming from a series of guilds that resulted in raiding literally seven days per week, I was burnt out, I think we all were. Burning Crusade offered some new distractions and we were set up as a mostly friends and family oriented guild. Casual in the extreme. As time went on, we started to get the itch again. By the time Zul'aman was released, we were having some fun plowing through some entry level raiding content.
Then Wrath of the Lich King was announced, when it hit, a consensus was reached: we believed that we could raid seriously without quitting our jobs or divorcing our wives. And so, the push began. In the months that followed Face on Fire grew, and as our ranks grew we began to kill more and more bosses. And now, here we are... Face on Fire has done well. We continue with all manner of bloody adventures and now we're knocking on Arthas' backdoor. What does the future holds for Face on Fire? Who can say? All I can say is that wherever Face on Fire goes, it will most surely be a fun ride.
